Winter projects

Has been a long long time since I posted :(
Have been crazy busy with craft shows and work.....but lots of pics to make up for lost time....first is a basket with a darling little winter scene.....not sure of the designer, was a class project....I believe the pattern was out of PaintWorks magazine
Next are some cute little canister-style ornaments, Cyndi Combs pattern....painted three sets (12 total) and they all sold!!
Snowmen pattern by the uber-talented Deb Antonick....used her new stencils for the details....painted the ornies first and has so much fun, I had to paint some candy dishes to go along with them!!
I love to paint on vintage suitcases, and I love Mary Jo Tuttle's Santa Claus patterns.....a perfect pairing!!
Another Cyndi Combs pattern...cute little snowies, gingers and Santas

More Mary Jo Tuttle Santas, ornament size
I love to paint signs and this is a fave....from a Kim Klassen pattern
 And another KK sign......
Some simple little marble magnets I painted...after I took the pic I realized the snowman face was upside down :)
A little sheep on a nite light cover......
These are from a Sue Allemand pattern...original was painted on bottles, I adapted to wood....
Took a SNOW stencil and added a Cyndi Combs snowie face......
Adapted from a Barb Jones/Snow Jobs pattern.......

Cute little sled ornaments, adapted from a Lori Cagle/Artists Club design
More Cyndi Combs snowies.....she is a new favorite!!
And of course, I have to do Renee Mullins.....love these kitty cats......the middle one went home with my friend Marie.....
And another one of Renee's patterns, on a vintage briefcase.....
And another Mary Jo Tuttle Santa design, adapted for this nite light cover
Found this simple little architectural piece at a garage sale....and it just screamed snowman at me.....I think he turned out well......

Be sure to check out my Facebook page (Primworks) and Pinterest boards (Primworks by Cyndy McBride) for more pictures.....

I am hoping to set up an Etsy page to sell some of my pieces later this year....watch for progress reports on that.....

Happy painting!!

And of course, I had to do at least one resin piece :)   This is my interpretation of a Susan Kelley pattern...

HOOT 2012

Has been a busy summer!!  Just got back from a week in Columbus, OH for the HOOT painting convention.  Had a wonderful time and took some great classes from awesome teachers.  Today's pictures are of the projects I completed....first one is a paddle with an adorable Santa and bumblebees, taught by the wonderfully humorous Sandy LeFlore...
Next is a "cupcake box" with a Santa and reindeer, taught by Debby Blair....not sure what I am going to do with a cupcake box, but I liked the Santa :)
This is a paint brush holder with "Peter Peter" taught by the awesome Barb Jones....love love LOVE her patterns....this was the first of two classes I took from her
Next up is a paddle with a harvest design, taught by the Northwest's own Maxine Thomas (a fellow Washingtonian)....still need to antique it, but I just loved this piece
Another Sandy LeFlore design....I am not much for flowers, but this was pretty fun to do...bottom has a chalkboard area.
My second Barb Jones piece....is painted on a glass brick and can be used as a nightlight....can think of lots of other pieces I can use this design on.....
This is from a class taught by the very prolific Laurie Speltz.  Very funny lady.  Can't say I am a convert to her way of stencilling almost everything, but I can see its usefulness with the background areas.....class taught with Chris Haughey from Cupboard Distributing.
Final pic is of the project taught by Chris Haughey.......bird and holly basecoats were stencilled, free-handed the rest...again, not a convert of the stencil thing, but still a good class and I like how the birdie turned out.

Hope to have my calendar updated soon.....working on lots of stuff, and have several shows planned for October/November.  Should have another Painting With Friends design finished soon (a cute pumpkin design) so watch for that on the PWF site, or check us out on Facebook (www.facebook.com/pages/PrimWorks).

And continuing the Kim Klassen theme.....this is adapted from one of her patterns I found in an old Create and Decorate magazine
Found this awesome sewing drawer at a sale last year....is perfect for this Terrye French pattern!!
My newest project for "Painting With Friends"....a cute little Americana angel....pattern available on the PWF site, PaintingWithFriends.blogspot.com
I have been on a resin kick lately....this piece is from the Artists Club.....it was supposed to be for a craft show, but I think he has to come live at my house :)
And last is this darling pair of witchy girls, surface also from Artists Club.....very detailed and absolutely adorable!!

New items for February/March!!

Has been a busy few weeks......the first picture shows a hand-painted journal and memo note box, adapted from older Terrye French patterns.
Just finished this piece.....2nd pic shows two sides of this candle block....adapted from a pattern from Terrye's new "All Seasons" book
The winter and spring sides of the candle block.....so cute!!
All this is near and dear to my heart!! I did this pcinic basket as part of the Terrye French "Painting With Friends" group....Terrye provides the drawing, and a "friend" does the painting and pattern instructions.....I recently joined the group and this is my first project!! Patterns are available for purchase ($5 each for e-patterns) from the Painting With Friends site.
This vintage scale has been painted with an old Kim Klassen pattern....love anything with a crow on it!!

Finally got the calendar updated....so excited to be doing the Country Chicks show this spring!! My first time as a vendor there, and plan to have my booth jam-packed with vintage goodies and hand-painted treasures!!

Also have several other shows planned for the year....I may be adding one or two more in the fall......love to paint pumpkins, so I need an outlet!!!
